Console lid cover common fitment issues and tipsUpdated a month ago
Common tips for helping you get that perfect Razorback fit on your brand new console lid cover!
"The console lid cover won't stretch over the lid / feels too small"
- Warm the cover in the sun for several minutes if the material feels stiff.
- Hook the back of the cover over the back edge of the console lid first.
- Open the lid slightly to widen the gap at the back so you can tuck the cover in further.
- Close the lid, then stretch the cover over the front.
- Fasten the velcro securely underneath.
"The console lid cover stops the lid from closing / won't latch"
The cover is designed to hook around the back of the lid with less fabric sitting near the clip mechanism - if it's not seated far enough back, fabric bunches at the latch point and blocks it. Use the back-to-front technique above.
"The velcro straps on the console cover are too short / don't meet in the middle"
Make sure you have the console lid cover positioned correctly, that the back and sides are lined up with the console underneath.
If you have the cover around the wrong way - then you will not be able to connect the velcro in the way the cover was designed.
"The console cover keeps sliding or pulling away at the back"
This usually occurs on consoles that have a tight recess at the back for the cover to fit into, you can make sure that the cover sits fully in the back recess - which will help the cover keep the cover in place.
This is much easier to do with the console lid lifted up - allowing you to slide the back of the console cover into the gap, and then close to console to keep the cover firmly in place.
"I think I've been sent the wrong console cover for my model"
Facelift/generation mix-ups can happen either when ordering, or during dispatch. Before troubleshooting fitment, check the white tag label inside the cover against your vehicle's actual generation/badge.
