Tools & prep for unbolting variants
If your model requires unbolting (check Model Specific Information):
- Socket wrench set
- Ideally two people — one holding the seat, one working the bolts/hooks. Can be done solo but is significantly easier with two.
- Keep all removed bolts somewhere accessible — you'll need them to bolt the seat back in.
- We strongly advise leaving the rear seat in the cab rather than fully removing it. Full removal is possible but risks damaging the interior or exterior of the vehicle.
For a guide on how to unbolt the rears and fit the covers - please check the instructions below:
General tips (standard bench method)
- Fold the rear cushion/backrest forward to access the gap between backrest and base before feeding the cover through.
- Don't pull from the velcro when finessing a cover through a tight gap — hold the fabric itself and work it through gradually.
- Before refitting an unbolted backrest, double-check every velcro strap is properly fastened. Once bolted back in, you won't be able to access them again.
- When re-tightening bolts, make sure they're secure but don't overtighten.
