Rear seat cover common fitment issues and tipsUpdated 3 days ago

A list of the most common fitment issues for installing Razorback4x4 rear seat covers.

"I can't figure out how to attach a plastic clip near the base of the backrest"

Some rear seats have a J-clip attachment point in addition to the main velcro straps. Reach into the gap between the firewall and the seat and install the J-clip behind the original factory clip, without removing it - this secures everything in place. If you can't locate this point, it may not apply to your model - check Model Specific Information or contact us with photos.

"My rear seat has a fold-down centre armrest and the cover doesn't fit around it"

  1. Fold the armrest down.
  2. Neoprene covers: turn the cover inside out and roll it over the armrest. Canvas+ covers: slide the cover over the armrest directly.
  3. Rotate the armrest up slightly and push the cover into the gap at the hinge — you can push it all the way through so it's visible on the top side.
  4. Remove the velcro protectors and connect the velcros together, finessing the material for a proper fit before folding the armrest back into place.

If you still need help fitting your center armrest cover - please see the guide below:

"My rear seat is a split bench (40/60) — how does the cushion cover work?"

Fit each section separately:

  • 40% side: pull the cushion cover over the front of the seat cushion aligning the seams, fit it on the sides, then push it through the gap between backrest and cushion.
  • 60% side: same process, but make sure the cover goes below the metal tube at the back of the cushion, not over it.
  • Once both are in place, remove the velcro protectors and attach the hooks to the carpet under the cushion, pulling tight for a better fit.
  • Reattach the middle seat belt through the elasticated holder on the seat cover before finishing.
  • Tuck the cover fully underneath the seat at the bottom.

If you still need a help fitting your 60/40 cushion - please see the fitting guide below:

"My rear backrest doesn't fold down — I can't get the cover on"

Some vehicles (certain Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux and other models) have a fixed backrest that doesn't fold in the way the standard method assumes.

This isn't a fault - it means your model needs the unbolting method instead of the standard fold-forward method.

Please see the guide below for how best to remove the rear seats and install the backrest:

"There's a bar, rope, or cable behind the backrest stopping the cover from sitting flat"

In rare situations the manufacturers may change the location of support bars, ropes and cables that run under the seat.

In most situations you should be able to maneuver and tease the cove around these to get a perfect Razorback fit, but if you are unable to do so - please reach out to our support team as soon as possible so we can help you through this.

"The seatbelt or child-harness cutout doesn't line up"

Confirm the cover is fitted so the belt or harness point sits correctly relative to the cutout as shown in your model's video. If it's still misaligned after correct fitting, please reach out to our support team so we can help you out as soon as possible.
